As a patient, what are my financial responsibilities?

Patients who have insurance are responsible for paying any co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles that have not been met at the time services are rendered by the providers of the Threlkeld Clinic. As a patient, it is your responsibility to make sure that you have met the eligibility requirements of your insurance plan and that we are providers in your network.

Please note that, as the patient, you have the final responsibility for payment of your medical bills. As a courtesy, we will submit claims to your insurance company. In addition, we will provide you with the information necessary for you to arrange payment for the medical expenses associated with your treatment and care provided by Threlkeld Infectious Disease.

Payments can be made by cash, check, debit or credit cards.

If you are unable to make payment in full for your portion of your assigned financial responsibility, we will expect you to agree to a payment plan that, if followed, will satisfy your obligation within a reasonable period of time. We can make it easy for you to do this with automatic drafts from you bank account or credit card. Failure to meet the payment plan’s obligations or to take responsibility for you charges will result in your outstanding balance assigned to an outside collection agency.

Will you provide patient statements?

We have partnered with Consolidated Medical Practices of Memphis (CMPM), an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) to further our mutual goal of providing high-quality healthcare while lowering the total cost of that care. CMPM generally provides our patient statements within 30 days of treatment with subsequent statements sent out on a monthly basis.

How can I be assured of total patient confidentiality?

We take patient confidentiality very seriously at Threlkeld Infectious Disease.  All of our providers and supporting staff are required to sign a patient confidentiality agreement regarding the safeguarding of your personal medical information.  As the patient, we will share with you our “Notice of Privacy Practices” which describes the limits of our use of your protected health information.  Please feel free to call our Privacy Officer, Eric Metz, at the office if you have any questions.
